How does the Qwik Draw Coolant Exchange Flush Machine work?

 

The Qwik Draw vacuums old coolant from the radiator, engine block, and heater core to the Old Coolant Tank through the radiator neck or reservoir tank and replaces it with new coolant from the New Coolant Tank in less than 5 minutes. Qwik Draw models with a flush tank also flush the cooling system with water and cleaning agent and then extract it. The Qwik Draw uses shop air to create a vacuum or build pressure in its tanks; no electric power is used.

 

What makes the Qwik Draw unique?

 

The Qwik Draw is unique because it acts as 4 machines in one, providing four different functions.

 

1) Exchanges coolant (quick drain and refill),

2) Flushes the radiator system,

3) Pressure/vacuum tests for coolant system leaks, and

4) Prevents air pockets from forming.

 

The Qwik Draw has translucent coolant/flush tanks with a large capacity (up to 80 litres) the machine is compact and maintenance free. It has no pumps or moving parts and uses no electricity. Can the Qwik Draw work on all cars and trucks?

 

The large capacity of the Qwik Draw and the adaptability of its Universal Vacuum Nozzle (UVN) allow it to be used on any size domestic or foreign car or truck with a gasoline engine or small diesel engine with a sealed radiator system.

 

How much training is required to learn how to operate the Qwik Draw?

 

Anyone unfamiliar with the Qwik Draw can learn how to operate it in less than 10 minutes. The Qwik Draw is very simple and easy to understand and operate. The valve handles are color-coded and their positions on the control panel are well marked and easy to read. In addition, an easy to read, step-by-step instruction manual comes with each Qwik Draw as well as an embossed Qwik Step Diagram showing the positions of the valve handles on the control panel for each step of its operation.  This diagram can be used as a quick reference guide during the operation of the Qwik Draw to check on the correct position of the valve handles at any step in the operation.

 

Where is the Qwik Draw made?

 

The Qwik Draw was designed, developed, and is made in America. It is very rugged and reliable and is made for heavy-duty use. Its’ sturdy steel framework and rustproof aluminum control panel are powder coated and its tanks are rated at 420 psi.  The base and tank end caps are all rust proof aluminum.

  

How long does a coolant exchange take?

 

Vacuuming old coolant from the radiator, engine block, and heater core and replacing it with new coolant takes less than 5 minutes.

 

 How do you dispose of the old coolant?

 

Old coolant is discharged from the Qwik Draw into a proper waste container by using shop air to build up pressure in the Old Coolant Tank, thereby forcing the old coolant out. Old coolant waste containers must be disposed of according to your city or

state laws and regulations.

 

 How much coolant can the Qwik Draw vacuum from a vehicle?

 

Up to 96 percent of the old coolant can be vacuumed from a vehicle when it is at normal operating temperature and its thermostat is open.

 

How long can a vehicle be kept running without fluid after the old coolant is extracted?

 

A vehicle can run without overheating for several minutes after the old coolant is extracted. However, standard operating procedure is to open the New Coolant Valve immediately after the old coolant is extracted to begin releasing new coolant into the vehicle.

 

Is it normal for the radiator hoses to collapse? What happens to the remaining fluid?

 

Yes, it is common for the radiator hoses to collapse. This only means that the old coolant is being drawn out of the cooling system creating a vacuum in the system. After all of the old coolant has been removed, this vacuum will pull new coolant from the Qwik Draw New Coolant Tank into the cooling system until it is filled. Even after the radiator hoses collapse, any remaining fluid will be drawn out of the system through the channels left open on the sides of the hoses.

 

Can the Qwik Draw prevent air pockets from forming in a car’s cooling system?

 

Yes, extraction of the old coolant by the Qwik Draw creates a vacuum in the cooling system, which prevents any air pockets from forming.

 

How many exchanges or flushes will it take to pay for the Qwik Draw?

 

If a modest 3 exchanges/flushes are performed a day at a low estimated price of $40 per exchange/flush, the Qwik Draw pays for itself in only four to five weeks, depending on the Qwik Draw model bought. Any exchanges/flushes beyond that time will result in recurring bottom line profit.

 

Will the Qwik Draw work without shop air? How can it do that?

 

Yes, the Qwik Draw can work without shop air allowing it to be moved out of the service area to wherever the vehicle is parked to perform an environmentally safe coolant exchange. This can be done by using shop air to build a vacuum in the Old Coolant Tank and then turning the Tank Control Air Selector Valve to the Hold Air Vacuum/Pressure position. This holds the vacuum in the Tank and allows the shop air to be disconnected. The Qwik Draw can then be taken outside the shop to exchange the coolant in a car without the air hose being connected. Old coolant can also be disposed of from the Qwik Draw outside the shop without using shop air by building pressure in the Old Coolant Tank and holding it before disconnecting the shop air hose and taking the Qwik Draw outside to a proper coolant disposal container.

 

Will the Qwik Draw cause any damage to a vehicle’s cooling system?

 

No, the Qwik Draw uses a low pressure/vacuum process to draw old coolant out of a vehicle and replace it with new coolant.

 

How many Qwik Draw models are there?

 

There are four models of the Qwik Draw. The models are:

 

Speed Draw - a two-tank model that performs up to a 20-litre coolant exchange in less than 5 minutes in one service;

 

Fast Flush - a three- tank model that performs up to a 20-litre coolant exchange of either one of two different types of coolant (standard coolant or DEX-COOL) and flush in less than 5 minutes in one service;

 

Diesel Fast - a four tank model that performs up to a 80-litre diesel engine coolant exchange

 

Super Flush – a four-tank model that performs up to a 40-litre coolant exchange of either one of two different types of coolant (standard coolant or DEX-COOL) and flush in less than 5 minutes in one service.

 

How big are the Qwik Draw Coolant Exchange Flush Machines?

 

The Qwik Draw Coolant Exchange Flush Machine models are all compact and easy to maneuver. Their heavy- duty caster wheels – two swivel and two fixed – allow them to be easily rolled into any tight space in the shop or tilted and rolled under partially elevated lifts or other low clearance obstacles.
